A Garden Bench--Like Many Outdoor Benches, Can Add Drama To Your Garden And Give Guests A Place To P
Gardeners are naturally self-expressive. It comes with the green thumb. Any garden brings up opportunities for self-expression beyond the flora, through accessories such as furniture. One of the most popular pieces of garden furniture is the garden bench. There are many styles of outdoor benches available in countless lovely materials such as wicker, wrought iron and a variety of woods. A garden bench not only helps to enhance the décor of your garden, but also gives you and your visitors a place to pause, to stop, to chat, have a drink, and enjoy all the hard work you've put into your yard. Since beauty and comfort are both keys when choosing outdoor benches, many experts agree that wooden benches offer the best of both worlds.
There are three essential qualities you want in any garden furniture including outdoor benches—comfort, durability, and style. In a garden bench all three qualities can be found in a wood bench. Few materials offer the natural beauty of wood. Wooden benches are available in a variety of hardwoods, chosen to withstand the elements. Teak is one of the most popular. Teakwood is known for its strength, durability, and beauty. The wood in a teak garden bench is heavily saturated with natural oils that allow it to withstand extreme climates. In fact, cold temperature and moisture actually deepen the mellow, rich hue of teakwood, thus making it ideal for outdoor benches.
Other popular hardwoods used to craft wooden benches are cedars, a good choice for a garden bench because of its attractiveness and natural insect resistance. Many outdoor benches are also made from redwood. Its ruddy color enhances any garden décor, it is strong, and weather resistant.
As a gardener, of course caring about your environment is an important value. If you are selecting teak for your garden bench, be advised that because of its many wonderful properties it is endangered in some parts of the world. Be sure you buy your teak outdoor benches from a supplier that gets its teak from properly managed, sustainable forests. This can be verified through the world forestry organization.
There are also a couple of lesser-known tropical woods that have almost the same qualities as teak when used to construct outdoor benches. These are called shorea and iroko. Either will have almost the same lifespan as teak, tends to be less expensive than teak, and will give you a garden bench that will allow you to sit and appreciate your backyard environment without contributing to deforestation.

If You Enjoy Yapping You'll Appreciate Good Dental Care.
Taking care of your teeth, gums, and the rest of your mouth, including the repair or replacement of defective teeth is what defines dental care. It's common to see a person suffering from dental diseases due to carelessness and lack of knowledge of good oral hygiene.
It is said that healthy gums and teeth are extremely important to keep your entire body system healthy and sound. Lack of proper care and a regular check up with your dentist may lead to several diseases like tooth decay, gingivitis, dental plaque, periodontal disease, mouth odor, etc..
Symptoms and prevention of tooth decay, gingivitis and periodontal disease:
1. Tooth Decay: The main cause of tooth decay is an acid base chemistry or an excess amount of acid. This is associated with sugar bugs, those who regularly eat sweet without brushing right after. Symptoms: First, a white spot appears on the tooth, which will lead to an early cavity if not dealt with. Cavities will begin with a light brown color on the tooth, and gradually become darker. Prevention:
• Be sure to brush twice daily, morning and before bedtime as well as after every meal.
• Floss daily (at least once), I know it's a chore but it's your smile we're talking about here. (:--)
• Consult a dentist for a regular cleaning and examination. Try to follow their recommendations.
• Make sure retainers, dentures and other appliances are clean and don't skip their recommended cleaning procedures.
2. Gingivitis & Periodontal Disease: Gingivitis is inflammation of the gums, whereas periodontal disease is the advanced stage of gum disease, which attacks the gums, bone and around the teeth. Symptoms: swollen gums, mouth sores, bright red appearance of gums and bleeding gums. Prevention:
• Brush your teeth twice daily.
• Gently floss the teeth once a day.
• Consult your dentist for further instructions.
Dental products to avoid:
There are many dental care products to avoid; these include strong antiseptic mouthwashes, bleaching agents, hydrogen peroxide, fluoride toothpastes, alcohol breath fresheners and other oral hygiene products. On the plus side they kill bacteria but also promote dental plaque which will make things worse in the end.
Products for dental care are: antioxidant tooth powder and probiotic mouthwash. Consult your dentist for the best products for your situation.
Children are more susceptible to dental problems. They are prone to eating chocolates, candies and sweets and thus get easily affected and suffer from tooth decay and other problems. So it is important for parents to know the basics of good dental care and guide your children accordingly.
These few simple steps can keep you and your family from severe pain, health hazards and will help us to keep smiling all through out the day.

Cooking With The Power of the Sun
Many people understand the concept of passive solar for heating a home. Fewer realize it can be used in to cook food and sterilize water.
Cooking With The Power of the Sun
A solar oven is pretty much what it sounds like. It is used to cook food and sterilize water. Most people do not even know they exist, but they are an effective way to cook from both an economic and efficiency point of view.
The basic idea with a solar cooking is to create a box like structure that the sun heats up dramatically. If you have sat in a car in rush hour during the summer, you know the sun can generate a lot of heat. Instead of cooking you in a car, a solar oven focuses on food.
So, how do we cook with it? The box structure is created with dark paneling and then covered with a clear glass or plastic top after pots and food or water has been inserted. The structure is sealed. Much like a car, the sunlight beats through the clear top and heats the interior of the box. As the heat rises, it cooks the items inside. Yes, it produces more than enough heat to do the job. It really is as simple as that.
There are three general types of solar ovens. A solar box works as described in the previous paragraph. A panel oven uses reflective surfaces to focus the sun on a pot to create heat and cook the material inside. A parabolic version is designed to focus the sunlight into the bottom of a concave area upon which sits pots. There are variations of these three forms, but all solar cooking designs are derived from these basic forms.
While cooking with the sun is a fun and efficient, most people will never apply it in their home because of obvious design issues. At a cabin or when camping, however, it is a perfect solution.
